PTC thermistors are temperature-dependent resistors based on special semiconductor ceramics with a high positive temperature coefficient (PTC). They exhibit relatively low resistance values at room temperature. When a current flows through a PTC the heat generated raises the temperature of the PTC. Once a certain temperature (Curie temperature) is exceeded, the resistance of a PTC rises significantly. This effect can be used to protect circuits or devices against overcurrents. In this case, the overcurrent brings the PTC to a high temperature and the resulting high resistance then limits the overcurrent. When the cause for malfunction is eliminated the PTC will cool down and act again as a resettable fuse. With this property, PTC thermistors are used as overcurrent protection devices in many fields such as telecommunications, home appliances, and automobiles. SETsafe | SETfuse's CPTC has a high resistance temperature coefficient, and the available Curie temperature ranges from 40°C to 320°C. The resistance of the product is in the range of 0.5Ω to 10KΩ. Diversified structures can be customized.
R25
Rated Resistance
Zero-power resistance at 25℃,Unless the customer has specified other temperature.
Vmax
The Maximum Operating Voltage
Under the highest allowable ambient temperature, the maximum voltage that can continue to withstand.
Imax
The Maximum Operating Current
Under the maximum operating voltage, the maximum current allowed to pass.
Tc
Curie Temperature
The temperature when the resistance starts to show a step increase is the switching temperature, that is, the temperature corresponding to when the resistance rises to twice the minimum resistance value (Rmin). Also known as switching temperature .
Int
Non-operating Current
In general, for CPTC, the non-operating current is the rated current or the holding current. Refers to the maximum current that maintains the CPTC in a low resistance state under the specified time and temperature conditions.
It
Trip Current
Refers to the minimum current that makes the CPTC jump from the low-impedance state to the high-impedance state under the specified time and temperature conditions.
Ts
Time to Trip
Under the condition of 25℃, add an initial current to the CPTC (guaranteed to be an operating current), and the time elapsed when the current through the PTC thermistor drops to 50% of the initial current .
Used for Overload,Overcurrent,Overtemperature,or Short Circuit Protection in:

Usage
Please avoid CPTC under the blew conditions to avoid CPTC damage or electrical deterioration.
1. Corrosive gas or deoxidizing gas (Cl2, H2S, NH3, SOx, NOx, etc.).
2. Under vacuum or exert excessive pressure.
3. Salt water, Oil, Solvent, Chemical liquid.
4. Flammable gas.
5. High humidity place where easily water splashing or condensation.
6. Twisting, bending and other types of mechanical stress can also adversely affect the performance of PPTC devices, so they must not be used or applied.
7. The place where maybe occur the above situation.
